Privacy Policy

This policy covers the LAIE website. LAIE is distributor-only: this site does not sell alcohol directly to you, does not process payments, and does not operate a checkout. What follows is about the information the site itself collects.

Information we collect

We collect information only when you choose to give it to us, through one of the forms on this site:

• Newsletter sign-up (footer, and elsewhere on the site): your email address.
• Contact form (/contact): your name, email address, the topic you select, and any message you write.
• Trade & wholesale sample and spec-sheet request (/trade): your business name, account type, contact name, role or title, email address, market or state, whether you want a sample and which spec sheets you ask for, and, if you choose to provide them, phone number, license type or number, volume interest, and a message.
• Media inquiry form (/press): your name, outlet, email address, your deadline if you give one, and your message.
• "Notify me" sign-ups (Find LAIE): your email address.

Every form on this site is processed by Netlify Forms, a feature of our hosting provider, and every submission is stored in our Netlify Forms dashboard. Contact messages and trade sample and spec-sheet requests also send an email notification to a member of the LAIE team, so someone can follow up with you. Media inquiries are emailed to our PR agency and to a LAIE media email address, for the same reason.

Newsletter sign-ups and "notify me" sign-ups work differently: they notify nobody. Those addresses are simply held on a list until we have something to send you, and you can ask us to remove yours at any time.

Age verification

Before you can view this site, you're asked to confirm your date of birth. That date is used once, in your browser, to calculate whether you meet the legal drinking age in your market. It is never sent to us and never stored anywhere, by us or by anyone else. If you check "remember me," only a pass/fail result and a timestamp (no birth date) is saved in your browser's local storage for 30 days, so you aren't asked again on your next visit. If you don't check that box, the same result is kept only for your current browsing session and clears when you close your browser.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use it: which pages are visited, and which links and buttons are used. Analytics loads only after you confirm at the age check that you are of legal drinking age. If you do not pass the age check, analytics never loads and nothing about your answer is sent to Google or to us. Once loaded, analytics uses cookies and similar technologies and may collect information such as your approximate location (derived from IP address, not your address itself), browser and device type, and pages viewed. This data is aggregated and is not used by us to identify you individually. You can opt out of Google Analytics using your browser's cookie settings or Google's own opt-out tools.

How we use your information

We use the information you submit to respond to your inquiry, fulfill a sample or trade request, send the newsletter you signed up for, or let you know when a product or event you asked about becomes available. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Who we share information with

Form submissions are processed by Netlify (our hosting and forms provider) and analytics data is processed by Google, each acting as a service provider on our behalf. We do not share your information with any other third party except as required by law.

International visitors

If you're located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or Brazil, you may have additional rights under the GDPR or LGPD, including the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain uses of it. You can exercise any of these rights, or ask us to remove you from a mailing list, by contacting us below.

Age of visitors

This site is restricted to visitors who meet the legal drinking age in their market. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone below that age.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date below.
